About Me
About Me
Welcome! Thanks for visiting Border Life Travel!
My name is Jessica, I was born in San Diego, California, but was raised in Tijuana, Baja California, Mexico. So, in short, I was born and raised on the US/Mexico Border.
I lived in Tijuana for most of my life, I understand and appreciate everything that it has to offer and I am compelled to share it with everyone looking to start exploring Mexico.
I’m now living in San Diego, which has always been a second home to me, and now officially where home is, and, I may be biased, but I think San Diego is one of the most beautiful cities in the U.S. with perfect Mediterranean weather and beautiful beaches while still having a city nightlife.

Travel Journey
I’ve been blessed to have traveled to many different cities within Mexico and the U.S. among just a handful of countries. But mostly I’ve stayed in the countries I was raised in.
However, I’ve always wanted to travel more, but who doesn’t, right?
Well, I made the decision. I’m going to make it happen! My husband and I decided we are going to make it a goal to visit 5 new countries every year.
This Year we are traveling to Italy, France, The Netherlands, Belgium, and the U.K, and we are soooooo excited!
Why am I blogging?
- I want to share with others everything San Diego and Baja California have to offer
- I want to show how anyone can travel around the world on any budget
- I hope to encourage others to start making traveling a priority, this is such a big world to not get to know it.
- Provide you with all the knowledge I’ve gained throughout my traveling journey.
Something to know about me is that I love spreadsheets and careful and detailed planning (yes, I’m the person that looks at the menu before going to a restaurant). But, also, I am very impulsive and like to jump into new things on a whim. A little bit of a contradiction, I know.
So based on that, what you can expect to find in this blog is careful planning, spreadsheets, lots of research, and information prior to traveling…
My travel stories (meaning what actually happened vs what I had planned), the good, the bad, and the ugly…
And my HONEST tips and recommendations. In an online world where everything is too perfect, it’s important to know both sides of traveling, the fun stuff, more serious information, and safety tips.
I hope you find the articles on the site useful. But more importantly that you enjoy Border Life Travel Blog and enjoy exploring the world as much as I do.
Cheers!
Jessica
